6 months and counting
Well... alot has happened in the last six months! Cancer has hit our family and life sort of stopped on the blog, so sorry. I have been keeping another type of blog to document my journey on caringbridge.org. so I thought I better give a little update on the Machin blog. In February 2009 i was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. i found a lump under my arm and had it removed. They found a large cell Carcinoma. Because of the location in the Lymph nodes they are treating it as it were a breast cancer. They do not know the primary source of the cancer so for the best cure so it won't spread to anywhere elsein the body was to aggreessivly treat it as a breat cancer. I started Chemotherapy on March 20th. I went through 16 weeks of treatment every 2 weeks.I survived the lovely drugs with the help of lots of medicines to help with the side effects. Loss of hair was a given.I am about to start Radiation this week for 6 weeks every day. Life has been very interesting for the past 6 months. I have been able to get through it though pretty well with the help of family and friends. My body is pretty worn down and I am trying to get my strength back little by little. It is so hard when your mind tells you one thing and your body says another. I can't wait to get back to normal.
